Los Angeles, CA, June 12, 2008 - Halo-8 Entertainment has secured worldwide distribution rights to the masked-villain gorefest "PINK EYE," a new horror film directed by James Tucker ("AUNT ROSE," Lionsgate's upcoming "SKINNED ALIVE"), written by Joshua Nelson ("AUNT ROSE," Lionsgate's upcoming "SKINNED ALIVE"), and starring Melissa Bacelar ("HOTEL CALIFORNIA," "CITIZEN TOXIE," Lionsgate's upcoming "SKINNED ALIVE"), Bridget Megan Clark ("DEATH ON DEMAND," Miramax's upcoming "DOUBT"), and Joshua Nelson. Halo-8 has slated the film for a limited theatrical run followed by a DVD release on September 30th, 2008.

Joshua Nelson, the writer/producer of PINK EYE has been a fan of horror since birth... literally. "My mother was a very cool hippie so she let me watch whatever I wanted as a child. I had seen every episode of THE TWILIGHT ZONE, THEM, INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS, PSYCHO and NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD before I was 5 years old! I have stayed a fan ever since so making PINK EYE was a great experience for me. We wanted to create a villain that was creepy and evil and at the same time, sad, brilliant and tormented... and I feel we've brought him to life with the character of Edgar."

PINK EYE is set in a prison-like, dilapidated insane asylum where secret drug testing has gone inexplicably wrong. Patients are dying in sick and twisted ways, and those who survive are becoming raging, homicidal lunatics. It’s only a matter of time before all hell breaks loose and inmate patients crave the freedom to take vengeance on the world outside. When one patient escapes - deformed, angry and far beyond insane - he brings death and terror to an unsuspecting town and everyone in it.
