HALO-8 SLASHES COMPETITION FOR PUNK ROCK HOLOCAUST 2

- Indie distributor acquires worldwide rights to punk horror sequel -

Los Angeles, CA, November 26, 2007 - Halo-8 Entertainment has secured North American distribution rights to the eagerly anticipated Vans Warped Tour punk-slasher sequel "PUNK ROCK HOLOCAUST 2" by notorious director (and Troma alum) Doug Sakmann. Halo-8 outbid several other distributors for the film that features rockers The Aquabats, The Casualties, and My Chemical Romance, among others. Halo-8 has slated the film for DVD release on January 29th, 2008.

"Doug Sakmann is one of the most insane and talented directors I've ever met. He knows just how to bring the blood and the laughs in equal measure," said Matt Pizzolo, President of Halo-8. "I'm especially excited about some of the special features Doug has put together for this DVD. It's pretty impressive when a horror DVD can make you nearly vomit during the special features."

When asked about working with Halo-8 on the release, Sakmann said "We've been working on this film for over three years now, so I wanted to make sure to join forces with a company who would really give the film the proper promotional push to the right demographics. Halo-8 is the perfect fit, their DVD catalogue is filled with films from filmmakers who have the same sensibility as I do, and they all have great soundtracks!"

PUNK ROCK HOLOCAUST 2 features live music performances as well as acting performances from some of the top bands of the Vans Warped Tours including The Aquabats, Bouncing Souls, River City Rebels, My Chemical Romance, The Casualties, Riverboat Gamblers, Mr. Dibbs, The Planet Smashers, Sugarcult, Shira Girl, Pro BMX Rider Rick Thorne, Metal VJ Mistress Juliya, and more! The film had its World Theatrical Premiere at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on August 15th, 2007 and will continue to screen theatrically at markets around the world.

Set one year after the original Punk Rock Holocaust, the demonic Executioner's headless, undead corpse is back on the Vans Warped Tour and it's looking for its head! The killer's body is tearing the heads off various band members and sticking them on the jagged spinal cord where his neck used to be, using them to look for his own decapitated head. The heads retain the victims' personalities, but the body is pure evil and is still carrying out murders. Adding insult to injury, the estranged heads are not on too good and keep falling off! On the tour there is total "Holocaust Denial" as Kevin Lyman and his tour production staff refutes the reports of carnage that happened in the previous year. Meanwhile, the evil Record Executive Belial (once again played by Troma's Lloyd Kaufman) is on the rampage and on Lyman's case about the deaths on the tour. One precocious, nubile "Holocaust Survivor" named Meghan has become a reporter for a small independent magazine. She is determined to get to the bottom of the story and reveal the truth to the world. Kevin Lyman is hiding something, but why? And what?

The film was produced by Backseat Conceptions (www.backseatconceptions.com). Since 2002, Backseat has produced or co-produced over 15 feature films (both mainstream and independent) as well as countless shorts, TV shows, music videos, commercials and industrial projects. More recently, Backseat has been dealing with new-media production, producing unique viral content and live events to promote clients' projects. Although a number of Backseat productions are known to feature edgy, "in-your-face" content in the vein of the PUNK ROCK HOLOCAUST series, the company portfolio covers a diverse spectrum of projects from all genres. Recent work for clients include music videos for Downtown Records (Spank Rock, Cold War Kids), viral and commercial media for Gyro International (Bikini Bandits, Sailor Jerry), and live events for Philly Car Share. Also, PUNK ROCK HOLOCAUST 3 is now in development!

Halo-8 Entertainment (www.halo8.tv) is devoted to supporting the unique visions of bold filmmakers by widely releasing dangerous films and alt-lifestyle videos through a combination of grassroots outlets and major studio distribution. Recent releases include the controversial documentary YOUR MOMMY KILLS ANIMALS (which Variety called "a miraculously evenhanded treatment of a snarlingly divisive debate"), the award-winning thriller THREAT (which Urb Magazine said "makes KIDS look like an after-school special"), and the suds-soaked alt-comedy BEER THE MOVIE (hailed as "the most outrageous and off-the-wall comedy sketches ever committed to film" by All Movie Guide).
