COME
PARTY WITH THE BOYS OF "BEER: THE MOVIE"
Indie Rock Jokers Throw DVD Release Party on Long Island
|
Long Island, NY, May 15, 2006 Long Island indie rock
all-stars I Am The Avalanche, Ultra High Frequency,
Aeroplane Pageant, and Jesus himself will be joining
the boys of BEER: THE MOVIE for their DVD Release Party.
The party will take place on June 4th at Levittown, NY venue
Club 2686 (show
details) and will feature music all night long with very
special unannounced guests.
BEER: THE MOVIE is a comedy in the tradition of KENTUCKY FRIED
MOVIE. Hatched in the Long Island indie rock scene, BEER was
originally developed as a series of downloadable vignettes
on FUSE Channels Daily Download. The culmination
of those webisodes is the feature-length BEER: THE MOVIE,
a suds-soaked update of the sketch-comedy movie genre. The
film was acquired earlier this year by UnitShifter Films,
the cult movie imprint of Sony-BMG/RED Distribution
label HALO 8 Entertainment. The acquisition of the
film was part of a three-picture deal between UnitShifter
Films and writer-director Peter Hoare.
Hoare and his team of indie rock comedians will produce BEER:
THE MOVIE - VOLUME 2 during their nationwide Summer &
Fall 06 tours promoting the franchises first installment.
Volume 2 will focus on the teams search for The Best
Bar In America as they hit the road with The Sleeping,
I Am The Avalanche, Ultra High Frequency, Aeroplane
Pageant, and Brand New.
BEER: THE MOVIE epitomizes the kind of high-energy fun
and reckless abandon of indie rock, said Matt Pizzolo,
President of HALO 8. Peter Hoare and his team have crafted
an intoxicating blend of humor and camaraderie. We are delighted
to be associated with such a talented comedy team, and we
are looking forward to a longterm relationship with them.
"I am extremely excited to release BEER: THE MOVIE with
HALO 8 Entertainment, and to help build the BEER: THE MOVIE
brand over the course of these three DVD releases, said
Hoare. As the films writer-director, I feel that
HALO 8 has supported this project in a way that could not
be matched elsewhere. I am grateful to have formed a relationship
with a company that not only understands our unique brand
of humor, but is excited about aggressively marketing it as
well."
BEER: THE MOVIE stars a team of Long Island jokers including
Robb Ackermann, Nick Biff Corrado, Tommy Gutter,
Chris Lilli, The Poonman, Adam Szachacz, and writer-director
Peter Hoare. The film was produced by Hoares 456
Productions.
